HUMAN FACTORS and ROOT CAUSE ANALYSES
Human factors analysis is the study of how people interact with systems, processes, and equipment, and how to improve performance and safety. It's a science that applies knowledge of human capabilities to the design of tools, systems, and processes.
Human factors analysis methods:
Human Factors Analysis and Classification System (HFACS)
A framework that identifies human causes of accidents and provides tools for analysis. HFACS is based on the "Swiss cheese model" of human error.
Incident investigation
A process that involves collecting and analyzing information about an event to identify causes and contributing factors.
Task analysis
A methodology that describes how people interact with machines to achieve a goal.
Human factors in health and safety
Human factors in risk assessment
Root Cause Analysis (RCA) is an often-used technique that helps answer the question of why the problem occurred in the first place. It seeks to identify the origin of a problem using a specific set of steps, with associated tools, to find the primary cause of the problem.
Root Cause Analysis Methods:
Determine what happened.
Determine why it happened.
Figure out what to do to reduce the likelihood that it will happen again.
RCA assumes that systems and events are interrelated. An action in one area triggers an action in another, and another, and so on. By tracing these actions to its roots, we can discover where the problem started and how it grew into an undesirable outcome.

At Jackson Organizational Consulting, we take a systematic approach to public health. As an expert in public health research, education and promotion, we blend Public Health and human organizational Science to provide innovative ideas and recommendation in field of prevention and intervention.
Although the term “behavioral epidemiology*” has been used in the literature since the late 1970s, it has not been clearly defined. A behavioral epidemiology framework is designed to identify a systematic sequence of studies on health-related behaviors, leading to evidence-based solutions directed at specific populations.
The phase are:
1–establish links between behaviors and health;
2–develop measures of the behavior;
3–identify influences on the behavior;
4–evaluate interventions to change the behavior;
5–translate research into practice.
Behavioral epidemiology: a systematic framework to classify phases of research on health promotion and disease prevention.
